KUWAIT CITY, Nov 9: Director General of Farwaniya Security Command Major General Saleh Matar received report from Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Police Station indicating the officers have successfully shut down 19 brothels within the vicinity. The report added that 38 African and Asian sex workers were arrested and referred to the deportation center; alongside 600 other male and female expatriates arrested for various offenses. The officers raided 8 local liquor factories and confiscated 30,000 readymade bottles of the contraband, which have since been destroyed.
Raids in Jleeb: The Department of Public Hygiene and Road Works at Farwaniya Municipal Branch embarked on inspection tour of Jleeb al-Shuyoukh, which resulted in the issuance of 20 violation citations against hawking. They confiscated 112 cubic meters of vegetables, scrap materials, furniture and second- hand clothes. Head of department Saad Al-Khureinej stated the campaign aimed at cleaning various areas governed by the municipality from any negative phenomenon that constitutes clear violation against public property and defies laws on public hygiene and road works. Meanwhile, the Public Relations Department of the Kuwait Municipality in the Mubarak Al-Kabir Governorate during a campaign which is organized under the title ‘With Your Cooperation’ has issued 16 citations against hawkers and encroachers on state property, reports Al-Rai daily.
