39,797 citations issued, 57 cars seized

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 17: Weekly statistics issued by the General Traffic Department show 39,797 traffic citations have been issued against reckless, negligent motorists and people wanted by law, in addition to impounding 57 vehicles and towing them to the Ministry of Interior garage, reports Al-Anba daily.

57 Vehicles impounded

A security source said this happened when the securitymen were deployed in all governorates upon instructions of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Lieutenant-General Faisal Al-Nawaf, and under the direct supervision of Major- General Jamal Al-Sayegh. The daily said during the campaign 36 people were arrested and referred to the Traffic Court. The 40 juveniles who were arrested have been referred to the Juvenile Prosecution and the four persons who were wanted in connection with financial cases have been referred to the concerned authority.
