34,916 citations issued, 1,267 cars impounded

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 25: Personnel from the General Traffic Department during security campaigns which lasted from Oct 14 to Oct 20 are said to have issued 34,916 citations and impounded 1,267 vehicles for committing serious traffic violations, nine cars ‘wanted’ by the authorities and six motorcycles, reports Al-Anba daily.
During the same period police also detained 56 people and sent 42 of them to the juvenile prosecution; arrested 11 men wanted by law and referred three people to the deportation center. Four persons were arrested for possessing and consuming drugs while 26 were held for not carrying personal IDs.
