33 citations in crackdown – Eateries, shops targeted

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 17: Emergency team at Hawalli Municipality issued 33 citations for various violations in a recent campaign on restaurants and shops in the governorate, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

In a statement, head of the team Riyad Al-Rabe’e said campaign conducted in the morning and afternoon shifts aims to enforce law without exception. He noted 9 violations were issued against laborers hired without health certificates, 9 violations for employing the services of laborers before they obtained health certificates, 6 violations related to advertisements, 6 involved the use of spaces in front of shops without relevant licenses, 2 violations concerned public hygiene and partitions made in a house without authorization.

Head of Engineering Licenses Directorate at Jahra Municipality Yusuf Al- Bazali stated 86 engineering licenses were issued last July, which included 78 licenses for private housing, 6 licenses for farms in Abdali, and 2 licenses for mosques. Meanwhile, Public Relations Department at Kuwait Municipality said Public Hygiene and Road Occupancy Sector lifted 66,348 cubic/meters of waste and pasted 259 stickers on abandoned vehicles in July.

Director of Public Hygiene and Road occupancy MelfiAl-Bazali also said the sector released six impounded vehicles, and removed 26,505 cubic/meters of organic waste, in addition to 18,164 cubic/ meters of scrap and plants, 20,501 cubic meters of construction waste, and other debris. He reiterated the sector collected KD 5,831 in fees and referred several violations to its legal department during the same period.
