32 sports bodies to partake in NSD – Sheikh Salman to sponsor activities

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 25, (KUNA): At least 32 sports bodies, including 24 federations and 8 clubs, will take part in the National Sports Day (NSD) to be organized on Dec 17, Kuwait Olympic Committee (KOC) Deputy Chairman Duaij Al-Otaibi said on Friday. The activities of NSD to be sponsored by Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al- Humoud Al-Sabah will witness the participation of some government bodies, including ministries of Interior, Education, Information and Health as well as Public Authority for Sport, he added in a press statement.

The federations and clubs proposed organizing some sports competitions over several days at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium, noted Al-Otabii, also head of Kuwait Shooting Federation and Arab Shooting Federation. The winners of all contests will be honored at the conclusion of the event, he said, indicating that the NSD will include soccer and athletics contests as well as entertainment activities.

He said the KOC chaired by Sheikh Fahad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah is keen on upgrading the sports development on all levels, affi rming that this would be refl ected in the major event which will be held for the fi rst time in Kuwait. Al-Otaibi lauded the support of Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud who is paying much attention to this event, expressing his gladness for the big participation of sports bodies and clubs.
