314 new infection from 11,039 tests

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 3 : Kuwait recorded 314 new cases of coronavirus over the past 24 hours to up the total to 143,574, while 2 deaths pushed its death toll from the outbreak to 884, the health ministry said.

The number of people hospitalized with the virus currently stands at 4,016, with 84 of them in intensive care units, according to ministry Spokesman Dr Abdullah Al-Sanad, adding that some 11,039 swab tests were conducted over the last day out of a total of 1,118,620 so far.

The ministry had earlier reported that some 540 people had recovered from the virus over the past day, raising the total of those to have overcome the disease to 138,674.

The spokesman went on to urge citizens and expatriates alike that abiding by health precautions, mainly, following social distancing rules, is the only way to halt the spread of the virus. (KUNA)
