KUWAIT CITY, March 4: About 3,000 people in Kuwait are believed to be sympathizers of the Lebanese group Hezbollah, which recently has been labeled by the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Arab ministers of Interior as a ‘terrorist’ outfit, reports Al-Qabas daily.

It is believed these sympathizers adopt the thought of Hezbollah. However, it is believed the State Security police of Kuwait closely follow up the movements of people who sympathize with foreign organizations — terrorist or otherwise.

The sources added, the security authorities have put the Hezbollah sympathizers under surveillance following the decision taken by the GCC countries to classify this group as terrorist organization because the sympathizers are believed to be elite people holding high positions in government institutions and some of whom are academicians, doctors, engineers and even media men. Speaking of their nationalities, the sources said most of them are Kuwaitis, Lebanese and the Syrians.

The sources added, any movement in the direction of financing or promoting the party will lend them in serious problem and they will be held liable for their actions. Foreigners will be deported.
