30 Egyptian riot instigators arrested

KUWAIT CITY, May 4: The Ministry of the Interior announced that the relevant security services had resolved the riot which was started by a number of Egyptians residing in their designated shelters of residence violators asking the Egyptian authorities to respond to their request to return to their country. The security sources revealed that 30 Egyptians were arrested for instigating the riots and has been referred to the competent authorities.

The sources stated that Special Forces had to be called in to control the riots and chaos where massive arrest campaign was carried out against the agitators in the various shelters and referred them to the competent authorities so that such actions would not be repeated in the coming days.

The sources stated that the telephone and internet services were cut off from the accommodation shelters to prevent filming, broadcasting and posting on social media contrary to the truth noting that the investigations indicated that there was coordination between the rioters at the various shelters and at that specific time.

As per the investigation it indicated such acts by the violators was to oppose their embassy ​​who are not aware of their suffering, pointing out that the various shelter centers are under full control and there is never cause of concern and that such actions will be dealt with firmly.

The violators in the shelters were informed that deportation to their countries from Kuwait was delayed due to closure of the Egyptian airspace and the absence of flights to transport them to which majority of them understood and they abided by the law and followed the procedures.

The sources stressed that the Ministry of Interior and all other concerned authorities have not and will not limit themselves to residence violators by providing all means of living, including food and drink, in addition to providing health care means through periodic examination of violators in the shelters.

All violators in the shelters have been told to abide by the law and not spread chaos stressing that it will take the maximum legal measures followed with violators of the laws.

The Ministry of the Interior confirmed, in a statement yesterday, that the shelters are under control, and the law is for everyone.
