The statement, obtained by KUNA, affirmed that the decision was in line with British authorities’ efforts to curb the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

This procedure also includes Britons returning home as well as a multitude of foreign nationalities, the Kuwaiti embassy stressed. This will only exclude individuals arriving from Northern Ireland.

Those arriving to the UK must submit an official document, which includes the place of residency and also a cellphone number.

Not abiding by the quarantine measures will lead to a fine of GBP 1,000 (around USD 1,217) and legal prosecution.

The tally of COVID-19 deaths and infections reached 36,793 and 259,559 respectively. (KUNA)
