18th Annual Horse Race Tourney kicks off

KUWAIT CITY, April 7: For the first time in history, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Horse-Racing Tracks in Farwaniya Equestrian Club will witness local competitions with 86 male and female competing horses during the 18th Annual Horse Race Tournament, which will be held on Friday, April 8 under the sponsorship of the Public Authority for Sports.

According to the Chairman of Farwaniya Equestrian Club Mubarak Al-Daihani, horses of different categories will compete for several trophies presented by Farwaniya Equestrian Club according to their respective categories. Revealing that 13 horses will compete in the 2,000-meter race, he declared that the massive number of competing horses means popular acceptance and confidence built in the participants and owners of the stables over the years.

Al-Daihani expressed delight about the fact that the tournaments continue to attract high number of participants steadily each year. He appreciated the efforts of Minister of Information Sheikh Salman Al-Sabah, Director General of the Public Authority for Sports Sheikh Ahmad Al-Mansour, his deputy Dr Hamoud Fulaitah and all sports administrators in the country.
