17 kg hashish seized from an Egyptian

KUWAIT CITY, June 1: An Egyptian expatriate was arrested at Abdali border checkpoint for attempting to smuggle 17 kilograms of hashish into Kuwait. According to security sources, when General Department for Drugs Control received information that an Egyptian driver of a heavy vehicle belonging to a company was planning to smuggle large quantity of drugs to Kuwait from Iraq via Abdali border checkpoint, it coordinated with the General Customs Department.

When the suspect arrived at Abdali border checkpoint, he was seized. Officers from General Department for Drugs Control and customs officers checked his heavy vehicle and found 17 kilograms of hashish hidden inside a spare tire. During interrogations, he confessed that the hashish belongs to him and that he has been smuggling drugs into the country for over a year. He was referred with the confiscated hashish to the concerned authorities for further investigations.
