Municipality launches campaign in Farwaniya 

Municipality inspectors on a round in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh targeting abandoned vehicles

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 4: Officers from Kuwait Municipality lifted 17 vehicles and a mobile garage during a wide campaign launched in Farwaniya Governorate particularly in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, targeting abandoned vehicles, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

The owners of these vehicles were given a grace period to remove them and the vehicles were removed following the expiry of the grace period. The lifted vehicles were referred to the vehicle detention garage. Director of General Hygiene and Road Works Department at Farwaniya Municipality Eng. Saad Al-Khurainej affirmed that such field campaigns will continue round the clock in all governorates.

Meanwhile, the Public Relations Department of Kuwait Municipality disclosed that inspectors from the Department for Audit and Followup of Municipal Services in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Municipality issued 162 citations and removed 766 violating advertisements during the campaigns that they launched in November, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

Director of the Department for Audit and Follow-up of Municipal Services Dhaidan Al-Adwani revealed that the campaigns in Mubarak Al Kabeer Governorate included inspection of 390 shops. A total of 162 citations were issued, two shops were administratively closed and 17 kilograms of expired and spoiled food items were destroyed.

Meanwhile, the Department of Public Hygiene and Road Works, with the cooperation of Emergency Team of Farwaniya Municipality, carried out a wide campaign in Farwaniya Governorate to follow up the licenses for use of land space and advertisement licenses and ensuring the validity of those licenses as well as compliance by the owners of licensed shops and cafés.

Director of the department Saad Al-Khurainej said the campaigns on shops and cafés were aimed to take legal measures against owners who erect tents and launch operations before obtaining licenses from the municipality. He revealed that 23 citations were issued against violating shops and cafés.
