1,588 work permits cancelled in 72 hrs

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 28: The Public Authority For Manpower revealed that in three working days (72 hrs) from 25th Jan to 27th Jan, 44% work permits  ie: 1,588  of expats have been cancelled.

The number of work permits cancelled on 27th of this month increased to 5,215 compared to 3,627 on 24th of this month.  According to the figures the recently cancelled 1,588 work permits indicated the acceleration pace of work permits of expats being cancelled due to 4 main reasons. 1. Expats cancelling their work permits and leaving for good. 2. Expats outside the country unable to renew residence permits. 3. Revocation of work permit due to death of worker 4. Cancelling of work permit and transferring to family visa.

2415 work permits were cancelled as expats were leaving the country for good that was about 30% of total work permits, report Al Rai.  342 work permits were cancelled due to the death of workers, 134 transferred to family residence and 2324 that is 51% lost their residency as they were outside the country as either they could not return or they could not renew their residence.
