KUWAIT CITY, April 14: An Arab expatriate was arrested at a border checkpoint for attempting to smuggle about 14,000 narcotic pills into the country. According to sources, customs officers were inspecting the foodstuff that were being brought into the country via the border checkpoint when they suspected a large quantity of sugarcane that arrived from Egypt and checked it to find 13,818 narcotic pills hidden among them. They arrested the Arab expatriate who received the shipment and referred him with the confiscated narcotic pills to the concerned authorities for investigations and necessary legal action against him.

Employee steals KD 1,600: A Kuwaiti citizen lodged a complaint at Fahaheel Police Station against an Egyptian employee of his import-export company, accusing the latter of stealing KD 1,600 from the company, reports Al-Rai daily. According to security sources, the citizen explained that the suspect was supposed to deposit the amount in the company’s bank account but he disappeared with the money. A case was registered and securitymen have launched investigations to find the suspect using the details provided by the citizen.

Woman held for drugs: A 30-year-old Kuwaiti woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, has been referred to the General Department for Drugs Control for possessing drugs and drug consuming tools, reports Annahar daily. The daily added the woman was caught in Mahboula at a late evening hour. The woman was reportedly caught on suspicion because she was seen seated behind the steering wheel and looked abnormal.
