Airport security inspections routine procedure: Interior
The Ministry of Interior stressed on Saturday that security preparedness may entail taking precautionary measures in the airport such as asking passengers to deplane and re-inspect luggage and the aircraft which is standard, normal procedure at all airports.

These precautionary measures are carried out to ensure the safe take-off and landing of all planes as well as the safety of all passengers on board these planes, said a press statement by the ministry’s director of public relations and media Brigadier Adel Al-Hashash. He emphasized that security personnel at the ministry did not receive any call regarding the existence of a bomb on a Kuwait Airways plane bound for Jordan.

Meanwhile, the Public Relations and Security Information Department has denied the rumor circulating on social media that one person died in a public brawl at the Duty Free Section of Kuwait International Airport Saturday. The department discarded the information as untrue, and indicated two groups of youths engaged in fisticuffs inside the airport Saturday but the police intervened and arrested all members of the feuding parties. They have since been referred to Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh police station for legal procedures. Members of the public are enjoined to desist from peddling rumors, as the door of the department is open for verification of facts concerning ambiguous cases. It also urged people should try to gather correct information from the official sources than indulge in rumor peddling on social media.
