10,000 “Farawla” narcotic pills seized at airport

KUWAIT CITY, May 9:  Officers from the Criminal Investigations Department, in coordination with Drugs Control General Department, arrested an Arab expatriate in possession of 10,000 “Farawla” narcotic pills at Kuwait International Airport, says Al-Seyassah.

Deputy Head of Investigations Office and a member of Information Media Customs Committee Khaled Al-Remaih declared in a press release that the office had received valid information about an Arab expatriate who was due to arrive in the country with a large quantity of narcotic pills.

Measures were taken for his arrest upon arrival. After he arrived at the airport, customs officers checked his luggage and found 3.5 kilograms of narcotic pills (about 10,000 in number). He was arrested and referred with the confiscated narcotic pills to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action. Al-Remaih appreciated Director General of General Customs Administration Consultant Jamal Al-Jelawi, airport customs officers for their efforts, as well as the cooperation of Ministry of Interior.
