100 KD work permit fee for those above 60 yrs; doubling the fee every year subsequently proposed

KUWAIT CITY, March 25: The directors of the Labor Department have sent a proposal to the Public Authority for Manpower to increase fees on annual work permit for expats who are above 60 years old having high school diploma and below for KD 100 and doubling it annually. This step will prevent renewal of work permits for this category. Annually the work permit fees will double, the option will be to transfer to family visa or self sponsorship based on residence law.
From January hundreds of expats who are above 60 have transferred their residence to Article 22 and 24, reports Al Qabas. The spokesperson of Public Authority denied the audio clip message that has been circulated over social media that there were exceptions that authority had applied this law for those who were 60 yrs of age who were born in Kuwait or residence exceeds more than 25 yrs or works in a specific profession.
