KUWAIT CITY, Nov 7: Twenty-two universities from different parts of the US took part in the US University Fair, 2009, held at Marina Hotel Saturday. The University of New Haven (UNH) offers bachelor’s degrees in arts, science, business and law and engineering streams, totaling more than 50 degree programs, and 18 master’s degree programs. The campus is located in the city of New Haven in Connecticut, an hour and half from New York. The university provides on-campus residence with options ranging between traditional rooms to multi-bedroom suites. UNH assists students seeking off-campus living arrangements. To apply for a program, international students have to take the TOEFL or IELTS tests to be considered for admission. The minimum requirement for TOEFL is 70 on the Internet-based test and 5.5 for the IELTS test. For master’s degree, the scores have to be 70-79 in iBT TOEFL.
Students excelling in standardized tests during admission will be reviewed for academic scholarships of up to $ 14,000 per year.
UNH offer more than 60 extracurricular student-run clubs as well as a selection of professional networking and honor societies. In addition, UNH offers 17 varsity sports with eight men’s team and nine women’s.
The university provides international students the opportunity to relate their majors to a variety of career choices. Many large and well-known companies such as IBM, Chase Manhattan Bank and Price Waterhouse Coopers frequently visit UNH to interview students for co-op and internship opportunities.
Students applying for visa to the US must be able to demonstrate strong economic, familial or social ties to Kuwait or the country of origin. Documents
The documents required for visa application include: the full address where the student will be staying initially while in the US; the original certificate of eligibility for non-immigrant student status issued by a US educational institution approved to accept foreign students; and other documents such as passport copies and photos.
A Burgan Bank receipt, valid for one year from the date of issuance, for $131 fee, is required as fee. Passport should be presented while paying the fee. Evidence of financial support for the duration of study must be provided. This would include a letter of sponsorship from a governmental authority, if applicable.
The University of Toledo provides more than 250 programs of study in arts, sciences, business, education, engineering, health sciences, human services and pharmacy. The campus has 10 residence halls on campus, and 10 on-campus places to eat.
There are more than 200 student organizations and lots of campus activities for entertainment. Toledo is just 4 hours from Chicago. The yearly fee at Toledo is close to $26,000.
The University of Buffalo provides 300 degree programs at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels. Undergraduate programs are offered in Accounting, Fine Arts, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Business Administration, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Nursing, English, Economics, Geography, Pharmacy, Physics and Political Science among others.
A minimum TOEFL score of 550 paper-based or 79 on the iBT are required for admission. International students must document financial support. Qualified freshman applicants can avail tuition scholarships valued up to $ 5,000 per year.

Montana State University is a nationally ranked public university that offers programs in agriculture, arts and architecture, business, education, health and human development, engineering, letters and science and nursing.

The Office of International Programs at MSU provides professional and support services including airport pickup, international student orientation, foreign student and scholar advising for immigration concerns as well as academic and personal advising. Guidance for jog and apartment searches are also provided.
University of Evansville offers liberal arts and sciences courses including accounting, archaeology, visual communication design, art history, management, global business, communication, education, engineering, English, health services and mathematics among others. Evansville in Indiana is a safe city in the Midwest.

Lasell College offers nearly 40 undergraduate and graduate academic programs. It is located 12 km from Boston. The programs include accounting, athletic training, communication, criminal justice, English, Finance, Graphic Design, History, Humanities, Legal Suites and Sports Science among others.
Students are required to have a minimum score of 525 in paper-based TOEFL for admission. Financial declaration is mandatory for foreign students.
The University of Oregon provides about 270 academic programs in architecture and allied arts, arts and sciences, business, education, journalism and communication, school of music and dance.

San Jose State University offers academic programs in applied sciences and arts, business, education, engineering, humanities, sciences and social sciences. The campus is situated in California. Some of the requirements for admission are 500 points in TOEFL paper-based. The admission fee for undergraduate programs is $ 23,000, and for graduate programs is $ 22,000.
Purdue University offers majors in biology, chemistry, economics, English, environmental sciences, government, history, mathematics, modern languages, physics and others. The university does not guarantee any housing. First-year students are not required to live in University Residences.
Completion
Purdue will accept applications for admission any time after the completion of eleventh year of schooling. An advance fee deposit for admitted students is required or the admission will be cancelled.
San Diego University provides UPS program is an opportunity for international students with strong preparation who would like to take a full time schedule of credit-bearing course at UC San Diego. San Diego is an idyllic place with 100 km stretch of beeches and mountains.
Some of the important courses offered include literature, electrical engineering, economics, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, molecular biology, stem cell biology, oceanography, psychology, business, political science, theater, communication, visual arts, organic chemistry, general chemistry and academic writing among others.

The US San Diego Extension International Programs provides a list of Conversation Partners, who would help international students with English conversation in exchange for the opportunity to practice and learn the international student’s native language. Conversation partners provide students with the chance to meet and have meaningful interactions with native speakers of English.
The university also offers a 10-week intensive language and pre-university programs. Some of the programs are communication and culture, intensive academic, TOEFL, TOEIC, business fundamentals, business English and legal English.
Youngstown State University provides one faculty member for every 19 students and an average class size of 23. The university gives students the opportunity to interact frequently with their professors.
Over 100 undergraduate majors from traditional liberal arts and humanities to health fields, fine and performing arts, science, engineering, education and business administration are offered.

Michigan State University (MSU) in Dubai offers a range of programs including business administration, child and youth development, computer engineering, construction project management, media management and research, masters in human resources and labor relations.
MSU Dubai will arrange sponsorship of residence visas for students. Visas are required only for non-GCC students over the age of 18.
