Kuwait : Sleuths of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) arrested a 17-year-old hacker who stole money from bank accounts of many people, say security sources.
Officers of the Mubarak Al-Kabeer branch reportedly noticed that five thefts conducted through the Internet had the same hallmarks and zeroed in on the suspect who lived in Taima area.
The suspect allegedly posts an immoral picture on a website to attract victims and when the victim is watching it, he penetrates the victim’s system and takes his or her account number or any other information he needs. The suspect is said to have had many programs for penetrating other computers.
Sources say the suspect also stole prepaid mobile cards and sold them at low prices to a grocery store. Securitymen arrested the grocer who admitted to buying prepaid cards from the suspect and referred him to Public Prosecution.
Indian woman mugged: An Indian woman has lodged a complaint at Taima Police Station against an unidentified person, who allegedly took her mobile phone and cash amounting to KD 400 by force.
The complainant told police she was on her way home when a Jeep stopped in front of her then the driver got out of the vehicle, took her mobile and money, and fled to an unknown destination. She provided police with a detailed description of the thief and his vehicle. A case was registered and police are now looking for the suspect.
