Prime Minister eyes using new mechanism
to appoint ministers

KUWAIT CITY: The next government will be different as HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah is keen on using a new mechanism to appoint ministers, reliable sources told the Arab Times. Sources revealed Sheikh Nasser was given full authority to choose members of the next government in a meeting held recently between high-ranking Kuwaiti officials. Sources said the Prime Minister is currently focusing on the upcoming elections as there is a high probability that some members of the next parliament share the responsibilities of the government.
Asserting the Prime Minister will choose ministers based on their qualifications, sources confirmed Sheikh Nasser will not consider tribal or sectarian influences in forming the next government. Sources added academicians, economists and administrators, particularly those without any political affiliation, will be given priority in the selection of the ministers.
