Kuwait : The Shamiya police have arrested five expatriates for staying in the country illegally after expiry of their residence permits, and three others who were wanted by the Criminal Investigation Department, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The suspects were arrested during security check near the sea shore in Shuwaikh.
Security campaigns to continue: Jahra Security Directorate is carrying out numerous and extensive campaigns in the region to clamp down on residence law violators, traffic offenders and other lawbreakers and sources say the campaigns will continue until after Eid-Al-Fitr.
Patrols teams are reportedly spread across Sulaibiya and Jahra to check vehicle documents and ID cards of all road-users. An Afghan was recently arrested for failing to produce his driving license.
Man found dead in apartment: A Kuwaiti man, believed to be in his 30s, was found dead in an apartment in Salmiya.
Sources say a pedestrian noticed bad odour coming from an apartment and called the Operations Room, following which securitymen broke open the door and found the deceased. His remains were referred to Forensics.

Woman loses KD 500 while shopping: A Kuwaiti woman filed a case at Jahra Police Station saying she lost KD 500 while shopping at a commercial complex in Jahra.

8 gamblers arrested in Khaitan: Farwaniya securitymen raided a suspected gambling den in Khaitan and arrested eight Asian gamblers red-handed. They also seized the money at stake and referred the gamblers to authorities.
Directorate of Farwaniya Security Directorate Colonel Nahar Dhawi Al-Otaini reportedly received a tip-off about the gambling den and instructed securitymen to raid the house. The suspects allegedly confessed to their crime.
