Female pimp arrested with nine prostitutes in Salmiya; Drunkard fires shots inside diwaniya

KUWAIT CITY: Acting on information and armed with a search and arrest warrant, police raided an apartment in Salmiya and arrested an unidentified female pimp and nine prostitutes - three Kuwaitis, three of an Arab origin and three Iraqis, reports Al-Rai Al-Aam daily. However, the daily quoting a security source said among the nine arrested three are actresses. The same source added, the owner of the apartment who was found in possession of alcohol and a small quantity of hashish, has been referred to the authorities. Meanwhile, acting on information and armed with a search and arrest warrant, police raided a house of ill-repute in a suburb of Taima, Jahra and arrested a female Sri Lankan pimp and 10 Asian prostitutes for indulging in immoral activities, reports Al-Anba daily. During the raid police also arrested five men who had gone to have 'fun' with the women. The suspects have been referred to the authorities.

Drunkard shoots at random: Police are looking for a Kuwaiti drunkard, identified only as S.R., for shooting randomly at 13 persons inside a diwaniya, reports Al-Anba daily. The owner of the diwaniya insisted on filing a complaint against the man in spite of having a close relationship with the suspect.

Woman held abusing policeman: Police have detained a Kuwaiti woman for allegedly humiliating and verbally abusing a policeman at the Omariya Police Station, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily quoting a reliable source said the incident took place when the woman went to a police station to file a complaint against her husband.

Eritrean man damages machines: Police have arrested an Eritrean man for damaging video game machines inside a cafˇ at Mirqab because one of the machines was faulty and he 'lost' several 100 fils coins, reports Al-Rai Al-Aam daily. The daily gave no other details.

Man sets 3 vehicles on fire: Police are looking for an unidentified arsonist who set fire to three vehicles at an unidentified location. One of the cars allegedly belongs to a police captain and the two others to Egyptians - one of them believed to be outside the country - reports Al-Anba daily. Police believe the arsonist used an inflammable substance to set the cars on fire. The daily gave no other details.

Man held stealing money: Police have arrested a GCC citizen for stealing money from a grocery shop in Salmiya, reports Al-Anba daily. A police source said the suspect entered the shop and asked to buy a prepaid telephone card. Then seizing an opportunity, he grabbed a KD 20 banknote and attempted to escape, however, an Iranian salesman jumped on top of the man's wagon and kept on knocking. The suspect drove for 40 kilometers with the Iranian salesman clung to the vehicle. Six police patrol vans chased and arrested the man and referred him to the authorities.

Girl in police dress abroad: A security source disclosed an Arab girl who is seen in a clip wearing police uniform is outside the country. A security source said contacts have been established with concerned authorities in her home country to arrest her, reports Al-Rai Al-Aam daily. Earlier it was reported the picture was circulated among phones users with the Bluetooth technology and the policeman who allegedly allowed the girl to wear his uniform is in police custody, said a source who refused to give his name. Police have also arrested the policeman's friend for taking part in the crime. The same source said the girl was in an apartment hired by a policeman contrary to earlier reports which said the suspect was a police officer. The source added the rank on the uniform was a forgery.
