Scores of illegals, wanted people nabbed in two raids

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 4: The security authorities during a crackdown on vice, residence law violators and people wanted by law in Hawalli and Ahmadi are said to have arrested scores of people and referred them to the concerned authorities, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The daily added, 73 people who were caught have been referred to the Deportation Center and 93 others to the concerned authorities for necessary action. The daily added, securitymen in the Hawalli Governorate carried out during random checks on suspected hideouts and makeshift markets between Aug 24 and Aug 30.

Meanwhile Director of Security at the Hawalli Governorate Acting Brigadier Abdullah Al-Ajmi said 29 people have been arrested for violating residence law, 21 reported absconding by their sponsors and 38 for not carrying identification documents. This is in addition to three people who were wanted in connection with theft, three for possessing alcohol and drugs and 19 others wanted in criminal and civil cases. He went on to say during the campaign the officers dealt with 352 traffic accidents in different parts of the governorate, and provide humanitarian assistance to 112 people and issued 80 traffic citations.

Al-Ajmi said the campaigns will continue day and night to put an end to outlaws, prevent crime before it happens. In other news, the security author-ities acting on information that people were seen begging for alms in a number of markets, arrested 15 people of different nationalities and referred them to the deportation center.
