Delayed ministerial ‘reshuffle’ might harm interests of Kuwait Kuwait projects in Egypt still suffering consequences of revolution

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 3: The delayed announcement of the ministerial reshuffle demanded by the Parliament might harm the interests of Kuwait, reports Al-Seyassah daily quoting MP Yusuf Al-Zalzalah. Hoping HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak will reshuffle the ministers soon, Al-Zalzalah warned any further delay may lead to negative incidents which nobody is interested in.  He claimed the government is slow when it comes to responding to the demand of the Parliament.  He pointed out the government needs five or six new ministers to replace inefficient ministers.

He said this step is necessary to avoid tension between the two authorities. He also criticized the decision of the Information Ministry to refer two actors to the Public Prosecution, indicating it is improper to underestimate actors who evaluate artistic works. Moreover, the lawmaker supports calls for strengthening Kuwaiti-Egyptian relations and partnership in investment but some of Kuwait’s investment projects in Egypt are still suffering the consequences of the revolution.

He hopes Egyptian Prime Minister Eng Ibrahim Mahlab will respond positively to such calls and give instructions to the concerned officials to remove obstacles faced by Kuwaiti investors in Egypt. On the other hand, MP Abdullah Al-Tamimi said the relationship between some ministers is no longer harmonious as before; hence, the need for a reshuffle.  He clarified he has no intention to instigate conflicts with the executive authority but he will use constitutional tools if the need arises. Meanwhile, MP Dr Abdulhameed Dashti submitted a proposal to insert the title ‘Humanitarian Leader’ before the name of HH the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in all official letters and correspondences, reports Al-Anba daily.

He stressed that HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah deserves the title that the United Nations presented to him because of his humanitarian contributions to many countries throughout the world, reiterating that such an honor affirms the humanitarian efforts he exerted to gather all countries in the world under the flag of humanity and peace.  “However, the granting of such an honor to HH the Amir is not a surprise because his hands are clean, and his activities and contributions are registered in gold.

Therefore, such a honor is a matter a pride for all Kuwaitis”, said MP Dr Dashti. He added, “Hence I propose to add this title before the name of HH the Amir every time his name is mentioned in official media, newspapers and local TV channels. He should be referred as Leader of Humanity HH the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah”.
