Woman turns on eve-teasers, sends one to hospital

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 1: One of the four youths who was badly kicked by a young woman inside a commercial complex in Al-Rai had to be rushed to a hospital, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily quoting police sources said this happened when four youths were eve-teasing the three women. The youths reportedly followed the women wherever they went until the women to the surprise of shoppers in the area, turned on the youths and started beating them. One of them kicked the youth on his private part and he had to be rushed to a hospital. A case of eve-teasing has been filed against the youths. Six other persons have been referred for further interrogation.

Smell of rotten food: When the residents of a residential complex complained of bad odor coming from one of the apartments in Mubarak Al- Kabir, the Farwaniya police and paramedics rushed to the area and with permission from the Public Prosecution forced open the door, reports Al-Shahed daily. Most people feared the death of a person inside, but the odor was coming from rotten food. The family is believed to be on vacation.

Top official’s car stolen: Police are looking for an unidentified youth for stealing the vehicle of the Assistant Undersecretary of the Amiri Diwan, reports Al-Rai daily. A security source said the vehicle was stolen when it was taken to the car agency garage for periodic maintenance in Al-Rai Industrial Area. According to a complaint filed at the area police station the suspect showed up at the garage and claimed he was sent by the owner of the vehicle to collect it on his behalf. He reportedly said he wanted to test drive the vehicle to ensure everything was in good working condition and never returned to the garage. Meanwhile, a police major has submitted the CCTV footage to a police station showing the suspects stealing his insignia, service cap and passports from his car when it was parked in front of his home in a suburb of Mubarak Al-Kabir, reports Al-Shahed daily. The daily without going into details said the thieves have not yet been arrested.
