Fake cops gang held

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 31: Securitymen arrested a gang impersonating policemen to steal from people in Hasawi, reports Al- Seyassah daily. Director of Hawally Security Command Brigadier Abdulrahman Al-Sehail received information about the gang, consisting of several expatriates who impersonate police and raid flats being used as vice dens. During the fake raid, the suspects beat the owner of the flats using sharp objects and stole money and mobile phones. A team was formed to arrest the gang whose members admitted stealing in different places. They were referred to the concerned security department for the necessary legal action.

Theft bid foiled: Police are looking for three unidentified persons for attempting to break into the branch of a cooperative society in Sa’ad Al-Abdullah, reports Al-Anba daily. The thieves escaped from the scene when they sensed the presence of a guard leaving behind knives and an air gun.

Woman threatened: Police are looking for an unidentified person for threatening a Kuwaiti woman for refusing to pay him KD 3,000, reports Al-Rai daily. In her complaint to the Criminal Investigation Department the woman said she befriended the suspect 7 months ago and the man reportedly gave her assurances of marriage. As time passed by, the man did not show interest and she also discovered that he was a married man. After she dumped him, the boyfriend allegedly gave her phone number to his friend and the latter called her and asked to pay the money saying his friend was serious about damaging her reputation.
