$1m ransom sought for Kuwaiti abducted in Lebanon

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 31 A Kuwaiti man, identified only as M.H. has been abducted while in Lebanon, reports Al-Anba daily quoting Lebanese security sources, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily quoting the same sources said the 37-year-old man arrived in Lebanon 10 days ago and he was abducted when he went to meet his friend in Baalbek. Following his abduction, an unknown person called and demanded $1 million ransom for his release. The Al-Rai daily said the Lebanese security sources believe the abduction is related to drugs. Meanwhile, the Al-Qabas daily identified the man as Misfer Al-Hajri. The daily also said the Lebanese authorities are negotiating with the abductors and that the negotiations have led to cutting down the ransom money into half.

Kuwaiti boy molested: Qatari Interpol has arrested a Pakistani guard of a mosque for molesting and attempting to rape a 10-year-old Kuwaiti boy in Kuwait, reports Al-Rai daily. A security source said the arrest came after the boy’s father filed a complaint with the Rumaithiya Police Station. In his complaint the Kuwaiti said the guard touched his son’s private parts and molested him and the latter screamed for help and escaped from the man. However, when police went to arrest the man, they discovered the man had already left for Pakistan via Doha. Kuwait Interpol contacted their Qatari counterpart and the man was arrested and deplaned. The man is expected to be extradited to Kuwait. The daily added, the man and his father are sponsored by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.

Mystery solved: The security authorities have solved the mystery of a young bedoun girl woman who was allegedly kidnapped two days ago from the Friday Market, reports Al- Seyassah daily. According to a police source the ‘victim’ had preplanned the kidnapping in an attempt to run away from the family. The source said after she escaped from the family she called the family and securitymen traced the call to Salmiya. Without going into more details the daily said, the woman has been handed over to the Public Prosecution.
