Girls among Arab gang accused of blackmailing youths ‘Avoid using webcam, cell cam to post personal photos’

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 28: The Cyber Crimes Department affirmed that it has registered 20 cases against an Arab gang that has been blackmailing youths. The department revealed that the gang, which consists of some Arab girls, has been using the social networking website ‘Instagram’ to become friendly with youths who have accounts in the website and encourage them to strip on webcam.

However, this gang would take snapshots of the youths and later use them to blackmail the youths. The department warned users of social networking websites to refrain from accepting ‘friend requests’ from unknown people and to avoid using the webcam or the camera of mobile phones to take personal pictures.

Forger deported: An unidentified Egyptian who forged his work permit and raised his salary from KD 100 to KD 700, has been deported from the country, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. During interrogation the suspect is said to have admitted to the charge and the main purpose he said was to bring his wife to Kuwait on visit visa. He also said he does not know the whereabouts of the mandoub who helped him forge the work permit.

Manager threatened: An unidentified Iranian is said to have threatened to kill his manager and his children for shifting him from his place of work in Salhiya, reports Al-Rai daily. In his complaint to the police the manager of a private company told the police station after the Iranian was told in writing that his place of work has been changed, he barged into the manager’s office and issued the verbal threat. Police have summoned the man for interrogation.
