Inter-Arab conflict likely to escalate

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 28: The conflict between Qatar and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates is expected to escalate soon, reports Al-Rai daily quoting reliable sources. They said Saudi Arabia has prepared a report of its observations of the violations committed by Qatar of the agreement that was approved few months ago in Riyadh, adding that the related reports of United Arab Emirates and Bahrain will be ready within 48 hours.

The sources said Qatar has clarified that it handled many of the points and is still working on the remaining points of the agreement. They revealed that a meeting will be held on Saturday among these countries, adding that the conflict among them could escalate during the meeting.

Meanwhile, the GCC Ministerial Council held a meeting few days ago at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In its concluding statement, it announced that the Gulf ministers of Foreign Affairs must ease the task of the council which is responsible for implementing the agreement signed in Riyadh to settle all the agreed points within one week.
