Do not visit unlicensed centers’ Bid to perform plastic surgery

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 27: Head of Plastic Surgery and Burns Unit at Al-Babtain Hospital Dr Qutaiba Al- Kandari has advised women to refrain from undergoing plastic surgeries in any saloons, beauty centers or clinics that are not licensed by Ministry of Health to conduct such surgeries, reports Al- Kuwaitiah daily.

In the first press statement issued by Dr Al-Kandari after he was appointed as the Head of Plastic Surgery and Burns Unit at Al-Babtain Hospital, he revealed that the center receives about one to two cases of extreme deterioration of health due to injecting banned and harmful substances, use of medical equipments that are not sterilized, etc on a weekly basis.

He revealed that a Kuwaiti woman had died recently from fatal consequences of a plastic surgery that was wrongly carried out in an unlicensed medical center. Dr Al-Kandari said more than 15,000 patients visit the hospital annually for treatment of burns and for skin restoration, adding that almost 240 surgeries are conducted on a monthly basis.
