‘News of DAESH entering Kuwait incorrect’ Minister sacks ‘Brotherhood’ man

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 27: Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and acting Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khalid is said to have ‘kicked out’ what it called the Muslim Brotherhood man from the Moderation Center of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, reports Al- Shahed daily.

The daily added, the Minister has issued a decision according to which the tenure of Dr Adel Al- Falah as undersecretary of the ministry will end after two months and is expected not to be renewed again. The daily also said the minister has issued a decision to appoint Assistant Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs at the ministry Fareed Amadi secretary-general of the Supreme Committee for the promotion of moderation.

According to sources the Muslim Brotherhood had controlled the Center of Moderation since its establishment and appointed members belonging to the International Brotherhood Organization in higher of positions at the center who promoted the thought of Muslim Brotherhood instead of moderation.

These senior officials working at the centre took advantage and treated it as a ‘Trojan Horse’ to recruit elements of the group to give lectures and hold seminars inside the country to promote their ideology. Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khalid took the decision after he visited the center to follow up the progress of work and discovered negligence and suspicions about money mismanagement.

On the other hand, a new scandal has been unearthed at the Ministry of Awqaf when the Interior Ministry seized a Muslim Brotherhood imam of a mosque sponsored by the ministry but was caught working for a private company. Security sources said 50 employees are sponsored by the Ministry of Awqaf but they work for private companies owned by Brotherhood members.

The sources said these persons have been caught and referred to the State Security to identify the circumstances and details of their presence in the country, and why they are sponsored by the ministry.

Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry denied reports circulating on the social media network that members of DAESH entered Kuwait through the Al-Nuwaiseeb border post and Sheikh Sa’ad Al-Abdullah airport and that Kuwaiti security forces were involved in exchange of fire at Al-Riqqa area, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

The ministry has called upon all those concerned not to promote rumors. Meanwhile, it has been reported the Ministry of Interior has formed security teams and erected checkpoints around the clock at Mutla’a and Abdali and other vital installations. The ministry has also strengthened security measures at the northern border to monitor suspicious movements.
