‘Many held in recent crackdowns’ ‘Efforts to arrest criminals will be intensified’

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 26: Personnel from the Public Security, General Traffic Department patrols and the Criminal Investigation Department will intensify their efforts in all areas of Kuwait to ensure security and stability in the country and arrest what it called the ‘outlaws’ and persons wanted by law, reports Al- Seyassah daily.

The daily quoting security sources said the crackdown on vice and violators of residence and labor laws over the past two days have resulted in the arrest of a large number people. During the crackdown police have also reportedly seized people with narcotic substance and arms and ammunition. The sources pointed the number of crimes committed by armed robbers, cars thefts, shootings and brawls has considerably increased in the recent past in spite of the crackdown by police. However, more efforts are being exerted by the security authorities to reduce the number of crimes
