Labour ministry shuts down 30 charity committees US woman blames female compatriots of negligence

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 25: The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor has disclosed so far 30 charity committees affiliated to the Social Reform Society and the Islamic Heritage Revival Society have been closed, reports Al- Qabas daily quoting knowledgeable sources. The sources said the ministry has taken a decision to close all unlicensed committees in the near future.

 Hunt for burglar: Police are looking for an unidentified burglar who allegedly broke into the home of a Kuwaiti police captain in Sabah Al-Salem and escaped with his service (Smith) revolver and ammunition, KD 1,400 cash, passport and nationality certificate from the bedroom, reports Al- Shahed daily. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprit.

Complaint filed: An American woman has filed a complaint with the Salmiya Police Station accusing two female compatriots of negligence, reports Al-Shahed daily. The complainant told police she left her elderly mother in care of the suspects who are her relatives before going to the US. When she returned she discovered her mother was left on her own and as a result she suffered several injuries.
