Tremor felt in Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 25:A well-known Kuwaiti astronomer Adel Al-Sa’adoun revealed that an earthquake of magnitude 5.4 on Richter scale hit Iran on Saturday at 11:05 pm Kuwait time, the tremors of which were felt in some parts of Kuwait, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.

He indicated the possibility of another earthquake to hit Iraq soon. Al-Saadoun revealed that the epicenter of the earthquake was the same as the previous earthquake, which is in Ilan area in Iran about 40kms away from the Iraqi borders and 320kms away from Abadan.

He further revealed that another earthquake of magnitude 4.28 and depth of 10 kms hit the northwest region of Al-Amara city in Iraq while another earthquake of magnitude 5.2 and depth 10kms hit north-west region of Shoosh area in Iran on Sunday. Al-Saadoun stressed that Kuwait is far away from the seismically-active regions of Iran.
