Two Egyptians arrested for Avenues jewelry shop theft Four Kuwaiti couples in booze party

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 24: Securitymen affiliated to the Capital Governorate have arrested two Egyptians and are looking for a third compatriot for stealing jewelry worth KD 100,000 from a jewelry shop in the Avenues Mall, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The arrest came just 24 hours after the crime was committed. The daily without going into details said intensive police investigation led to the arrest of two suspects. It has been reported the thieves were hired by the adjoining shop to make interior decoration and taking advantage of the situation they committed the theft. The theft was recorded by CCTV cameras installed in the shop.

Booze party: Acting on information and armed with a search and arrest warrant, the Salmiya police recently raided a vice den inside a commercial complex in the area and arrested 4 Kuwaiti couples for drinking alcohol and possessing alcohol and drugs, reports Annahar daily. They have been referred to the General Department for Drugs and Alcohol Control.

Daring robbery: Police are looking for an unidentified burglar for breaking into the home of a Kuwaiti woman, who is believed to be in her 50s, and stealing jewelry worth KD 5,000, reports Al- Anba daily. The woman who lives in Sa’ad Al-Abdullah said she was at home when the theft took place. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprit.

Smuggling Iphones: Customs officers at the Cairo International Airport recently foiled an attempt by an Egyptian man arriving from Kuwait to smuggle into the country 21 Iphones hidden inside a blanket, reports Al- Rai daily. However, the cell phones have not been confiscated and no legal action has been initiated because the passenger agreed to pay import tax.
