Vice squad busts European prostitution ring in sting op

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 24: Personnel from the Vice Squad have arrested six members of a ring, believed to be all Europeans — five prostitutes and one transvestite, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily quoting sources said two of the prostitutes are from Italy, three from Spain and the transvestite from Czech. They are believed to be members of a wide network and prospective customers book for their services online.

According to a security source, the arrest came after the Director- General of the Directorate-General of Criminal Investigations Major- General Mahmoud Al-Tabbakh received a tipoff that the suspects, members of the worldwide ring were holed up in a hotel in downtown Kuwait City. The same sources said police armed with a search and arrest warrant sent a mole and raided the place after he was offered flesh service. It is rumored they charge KD 2,000 per night. At the time of arrest they were in possession of large sums of money — believed to be proceeds from their ‘service’.

The daily quoting the same sources said they came to the country on visit visas and the prospective customers got in touch with them through porn sites on the Internet. The sources added another way of paying for the services was through bank transfer to avoid detection.

Meanwhile, a Chilean homosexual was arrested for practicing prostitution in a hotel for KD 100. Director of Criminal Evidence Department Major General Mahmoud Al-Tabakh received information about the immoral activities of the suspect in a hotel in the Capital Governorate.

The suspect was clad in women’s clothes during the arrest. He was referred to the concerned security department for the necessary legal action.
