Police arrest ‘30-theft’ man

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 21: An unidentified man was arrested in Jabriya for his involvement in more than 30 theft cases, reports Al-Seyassah daily. While patrolling the area, securitymen from Salwa Police Station signaled for the suspect to stop for routine inspection. When the officers checked his security records, they discovered he has been involved in several theft cases over the last two years. He was referred to the concerned security department for prosecution. Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti man, whose identity has not been disclosed, has filed a missing persons report on his brother, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to the complaint, the brother left the house in Mubarak Al- Kabir area and did not return. He added, when he tried to contact him, he discovered the phone switched off. The complainant has given police details about his brother. And, acting on information firemen rushed to the home of the late Sheikh Jaber Al-Athbi Al-Sabah in Shamiya area and put out the fire, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The daily quoting fire sources said quick action by firemen prevented the fire from spreading to other areas of the house. According to fire sources the fire started in the tent in the garden. No casualties have been reported. The extent of damage is not known
