Man wanted in 40 thefts held Items worth KD 150,000 stolen

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 20: Hawally securitymen, under the supervision of Hawally Security Directorate Director Brigadier Abdulrahman Al-Sehail, arrested a Kuwaiti wanted by law for his involvement in 40 theft cases.

In compliance with the instructions of Assistant Undersecretary for Criminal Security Affairs Major General Abdulhamid Al-Awadi and Criminal Evidence Department Director Major General Mahmoud Al-Tabakh to track down those behind the rampant thefts, Al-Sehail formed a team of security officers to arrest the culprit. An intensive search operation ensued, leading to the arrest of the suspect in Hawally.

The suspect admitted the crime during interrogation which revealed that he looted houses and shops. The total value of the items he stole, including some vehicles and jewelry, is estimated at KD150,000. The officers also found in his possession some stolen jewelry and an undisclosed amount of cash. Investigation is ongoing to locate the victims in order to return the stolen items to them.
