Cops detained - Doing duty?

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 19: Although they were given orders to man a traffic post on Al-Muthana Street and issue citations to violators of traffic laws, four traffic policemen have been punished for doing their duty, reports Al-Rai daily.

The policemen were shocked when they were detained for two days just because they had issued a citation to the brother of a senior police officer working at the traffic department because the man was neither carrying a driving licence nor a car registration book. Moreover, the violator after identifying himself had requested the policemen not to issue a citation against him.

Meanwhile, police are looking for unidentified persons who broke into the store of a livestock pen in Abdali and stole 12 tents, 6 television sets and several electrical appliances, reports Al-Kuwaitiah daily.
