Woman found shot dead in Adailiya Drug addict shoots police officer

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 18: A Kuwaiti woman, in her 40s, was found dead in her house in Adailiya with a gunshot wound in the head. Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location after the Operations Room at the Ministry of Interior received information about the incident. However, the woman was already dead when they arrived at the scene. A pistol was found near the woman’s body, raising suspicion that she was shot dead. Her remains were referred to Forensics and a team from the Criminal Evidence Department lifted fingerprints to identify the suspect. Members of her family were summoned for questioning. Assistant Undersecretary for Criminal Security Affairs Abdul Hammed Al- Awadhi has instructed Director of Criminal Security Department Major General Mahmoud Al-Tabakh to immediately take all the necessary legal steps to solve the crime. Meanwhile, an unidentified inmate of a prison died reportedly inside his cell due to cardiac arrest, reports Al-Shahed daily. The remains of the victim have been referred to Forensics.

Drug addict shoots police officer: A GCC expatriate was arrested for shooting a security officer and trying to run over another, as well as for driving under the influence of drugs, reports Al- Seyassah daily. According to security sources, Jahra securitymen were patrolling Taima area when they stopped a vehicle that was being driven recklessly. When they asked the driver for his civil ID, he escaped and shot at a security officer who pursued him. He also tried to run over the other security officer. After he was seen entering his family’s house, securitymen called for backup and closed the entrances and exits of the area. They eventually arrested him and checked his details to discover he is a GCC national with a criminal record and he was under grug influence. He was referred to the Public Prosecution for investigations and necessary legal action against him.

 ‘Tomboy’ assaulted: Police are looking for a tomboy for assaulting a Kuwaiti woman inside a cafÈ in Salmiya, reports Al-Rai daily. The victim in her complaint said she was sitting at a corner table in the cafÈ and the tomboy approached her and requested her to move to another place saying the table was reserved for her. When the woman refused the tomboy assaulted her and drove off. The woman has provided police details of the car and the numbers plate of the tomboy’s vehicle.

 Stolen car found: The Firdous police are doing the necessary paper work to return the car which was reported stolen in the area to its owner, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, the car was found behind a power transformer in the area. In the meantime, personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the thief.
