Woman reports call from DAESH ‘God willing, you’ll go to hell’

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 18: A Kuwaiti woman has complained of receiving a text message on her cell phone from overseas, reports Al- Shahed daily. The message read: “I invite you to join the Mujahedeen in the Islamic State DAESH”. The message is accompanied by a request for the woman to send a copy of her passport. The message said should she approve the offer, the sender who identified himself as Abu Obaida Al-Baghdadi, he will make necessary arrangements to help her join the army of the Islamic State. The woman is said to have replied saying ‘God willing, you will go to hell.’ The woman has handed over the telephone number of the sender to the security authorities to trace the source of the message.

Doubling cash?: Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department have arrested an unidentified African and are looking for another for duping many people, reports Al- Shahed daily. The men reportedly claimed they have the power to double the money and robbed those who swallowed the bait. Acting on information police sent a fake customer with $1,000 to double the money and caught the suspect in the act.

European robbed: Police are looking for an unidentified burglar who allegedly broke into the home of an unidentified European in Mahboula and escaped with KD 600 cash and his pet dog, reports Al-Shahed daily. Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprit.

Egyptian arrested: Kuwaiti Interpol has arrested an unidentified Egyptian upon a request from its counterpart in Egypt, reports Al-Shahed daily. According to the daily the man is wanted by Cairo in connection with murder. Preparations are underway to extradite him to Egypt. The man was reportedly picked up from his workplace in Hawalli.

Gunmen nabbed: Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department have arrested two young men — a Kuwaiti and a GCC citizen — for possessing unlicensed guns, reports Al-Rai daily. The men were arrested during a wedding celebration. The daily added, a security officer from the Criminal Investigation Department was one of the invitees at the wedding ceremony and when he saw the suspects shooting in the air while driving, he contacted the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior and a police patrol was dispatched to the area to arrest the shooters. They have been referred to the authorities.
