‘Revoke’ train seen on track

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 17: The ‘train’ of withdrawing citizenship continues on its track and is all set to withdraw the nationality of 14 people, reports Al-Shahed daily. This will be decided during a Cabinet meeting which is slated for Monday, Aug 18, 2014, after HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak returns from abroad.

Sources said the Cabinet will look into the report which has been prepared by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammed Al- Khalid on the number of people who are said to have violated the citizenship law and provokers of the chaos in the country.

The technical committee which is in charge of inspecting the procedures of granting citizenship which was formed by the Interior Minister recently has disclosed the names of 14 people whose citizenship must be withdrawn because it was given on the strength of forged documents and in violation of the law.

Sources added, included in the list of names is a wellknown media practitioner who is also well-known for provoking chaos through the social networking websites and Arab and local media. Add to this list a number of politicians and a former MP. The meeting is also scheduled to discuss the latest developments in terms of charity societies since the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hind Al- Subaih has closed the files of charity societies for violating the laws, byelaws and regulations.
