Two armed-men in ‘Lexus’ steal KD 4,000, four cell phones from 2

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 16: Two unknown individuals stopped a car with two occupants in South Jahra area, forced the two youths to step out of the car, stole KD 4,000 and four mobile phones from them and escaped with the car key. One of the victims is working at Ministry of Interior as an officer of rank ‘Sergeant Major’. Security sources revealed that securitymen have managed to identify one of the suspects and are preparing to arrest him within a few hours. They explained that the victims were driving in South Jahra area when the driver of a ‘Lexus’ car flagged them to stop to ask for directions to Block 4 of the area. While the victims were explaining the directions, the two suspects stepped out of their car and used a gun to threaten them. One of the victims - the officer punched the armed suspect when he fired a gunshot into the air to scare them. However, the other suspect, who was armed with a cleaver threatened to harm the officer’s friend. After the suspects stole their cash of KD 4,000 and four mobile phones and escaped with the car key, the victims notified the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior.

Acting Jahra Security Director Colonel Falah Mohsen and some securitymen rushed to the location. Officers from General Department for Criminal Evidences also arrived at the location and lifted fingerprints of the suspects. The sources revealed that Jahra Investigation Department managed to identify one of the suspects within 24 hours, adding that he will be apprehended in a few hours and will be interrogated to identity of his partner. They said the Assistant Undersecretary for Criminal Security Affairs Major General Abdulhameed Al-Awadi and Director of General Department for Criminal Evidences Major General Mahmoud Al-Tabakh gave strict instructions to arrest the culprits in order to avoid the occurrence of such crimes in the future. The sources declared that securitymen arrested two individuals last week who forced a Kuwaiti citizen to stop his vehicle, pulled him out of it and stole his mobile phone and wallet before escaping from the location.

KD 1,780 stolen from car: An unidentified person broke into the car of a Kuwaiti citizen and escaped with KD 1,780 cash, reports Al-Rai daily. A case was registered in Rabya police station and personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department went to the scene to lift fingerprints for identifying the culprit.
