Kuwait Club battle against Al-Qadsia National soccer season kicks off

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 14, (KUNA): The annual Kuwait Super Cup soccer competition (2014-2015) is scheduled to get underway on Friday, pitting the champions of the previous season, Al-Qadsia, against the champion of the Amir Cup, Kuwait Club. The match between the two teams will be held at Al-Salmiyah Club stadium. The current soccer season involves 14 clubs, with three major championships, the Premier League, the Amir Cup and the Crown Prince Cup. Adel Aqla, the manager of Kuwait Club soccer team, told KUNA that his team had been well prepared for start of the new soccer season in Kuwait, after taking part in an international competition in Al-Ain, the UAE, last month, and after being involved in a training camp in Cairo.

 

Refaee Al-Dihani, the deputy manager of Al-Qadsia, told KUNA that his team had also been prepared well and had taken part in the international Al-Wahda Club championship in Abu Dhabi, in addition to undergoing programmed training in Bahrain, also playing friendly matches. The Kuwait Super Cup is an annual football competition organized by Kuwait Football Association (KFA). This competition serves as the season opener and is played between the Kuwaiti Premier League Champions and the Kuwait Amir Cup winners of the previous season.
