Liquor found on Indian, Nepali bootleggers

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 14: Police have arrested two men — an Indian and a Nepali — for bootlegging, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily quoting security sources said a police patrol saw the men in Jleeb Al- Shuyoukh standing near a blue color bag. When they saw one of the securitymen getting out of the vehicle and going in their direction, they abandoned the bag and tried in vain to escape. Police have seized from the bag 33 polyethylene packets of locally-manufactured booze and two bottles of Red Label whisky. The contraband and the suspects have been handed over to the General Department for Drugs and Alcohol Control.

Suicide bid foiled: Acting on information firemen and police rushed to an unidentified location and rescued an Asian maid who was threatening to jump to her death from the roof of her sponsor’s house, reports Al-Rai daily. A security source told the daily when the maid threatened to throw herself down firemen failed to convince her to give up the idea police rushed to the spot and dissuaded her from carrying out the threat. A case of attempted suicide has been registered against her.
