Surveillance tech secures borders

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 14: The Ministry of Interior has installed the most advanced surveillance devices in the northern border in order to thwart attempts to infiltrate into the country, reports Al-Shahed daily quoting sources. Sources said the ministry has started the installation of underground devices to uncover infiltration operations, in addition to a well-developed electrical security system throughout the southern border covering 237 kilometers.

Sources added the ministry decided to implement these projects after receiving confidential reports on the inability of concerned authorities to prevent infiltration, especially after the arrest of many foreigners who entered the country illegally through the borders. Meanwhile, the procedures taken recently by the government to eliminate threats to national security will continue in two ways — one is withdrawal of citizenship of those involved in such acts and the other is the execution of confidential instructions reports Al-Shahed daily quoting sources.

Sources disclosed the next steps include referring officials affiliated to the Muslim Brotherhood for retirement or dismissal, especially since some of them have been occupying leadership positions for a long time. Sources said these officials have been abusing their power to impose their will on the employees under them.

Sources added a directive was issued to immediately select the replacement for these officials to prevent them from returning to their posts which they have been using to serve the interests of their groups. Sources also unveiled a plan to refer a group of officials affiliated to the Brotherhood to the Public Prosecution for their alleged involvement in suspicious financial transactions and other illegal activities while in office.
