Bid to abduct girlfriend

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 12: The Salmiya police are looking for a young Kuwaiti man for attempting to kidnap his 22-year-old girlfriend following a complaint filed by her, reports Al-Rai daily. In her complaint, the woman said the boyfriend invited her for coffee and when she was about to leave, the man requested her to go with him to his apartment. When she turned down the offer, he kept insisting. However, when she stood her ground, he abruptly pulled her and tried to bundle her in his car. She added, she then screamed for help and the man took to his heels.

Woman acquitted: The Misdemeanor Court acquitted a Kuwaiti woman of misusing her mobile phone and insulting a Kuwaiti man. According to the case files, the Public Prosecution accused the defendant of misusing her mobile phone as well as insulting and disturbing the plaintiff, as alleged by the latter. The defense counsel Lawyer Khalid Al- Suweifan said the messages that his client ‘texted’ the plaintiff did not contain any words that can be considered as offensive, stressing that the charges against his client lacks element of crime required for convicting an individual.
