Asian maid commits suicide Seditious graffiti writer sought

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 11: An Asian housemaid committed suicide by hanging in the house of her sponsor in Sabah Al-Nasser. Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location after the Operations Room at the Interior Ministry received information that the housemaid tied one end of a rope around her neck and tied the other end to the ceiling of her room. She was already dead when the rescuers arrived at the scene. Her remains were referred to Forensics. A case was registered and investigations are in progress to determine the actual circumstances which have prompted the housemaid to take her own life.

Graffiti writer sought: Securitymen are now looking for an unidentified person who wrote statements against the government and people of Kuwait on the wall of a power transmission center in Saad Al-Abdullah. A Kuwaiti informed the Ministry of Interior about the graffiti, so investigations are ongoing to identify the culprit and take the necessary action against him. Officers from the Criminal Evidence Department have lifted fingerprints to ease the identification procedures.

‘Gate-crasher’ held: Personnel from the Security Department of the Ministry of Interior have arrested the Kuwaiti who had crashed into the gate of a Husseiniya with his vehicle, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The authorities are interrogating the man to know the motive.

Cars broken into: An unknown person broke the glass of a Kuwaiti lady’s vehicle while it was parked near a commercial complex, and stole a mobile phone. The citizen was surprised when she came out of the commercial complex and discovered the glass of her vehicle had been smashed. She notified the Operations Room about the incident and Criminal Evidences Men rushed to the scene, lifted fingerprints and registered a case for investigation. Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti citizen filed a case in Bayan police station and reported his vehicle’s glass was shattered by unknown person (s) and the contents stolen, including three valuable wrist watches, glasses and official documents. He explained that the vehicle was parked in front of the house when the incident happened. Necessary action was taken by security operatives.

Prisoner has TB: Security sources from General Department of Correctional Facilities disclosed that an inmate of the Central Prison was diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis, affirmed the prison’s administration has since taken precautionary security and medical measures to deal with the case in coordination with medical specialists at the Prisons Hospital, reports Al- Rai daily. Sources revealed that the patient was discovered in cell number 4 of the Central Prison, which led the administration to conduct medical check-up on all inmates in that cell as a precautionary measure to ensure the rest of the inmates have not been infected. The same sources added that results of the medical test conducted on 50 inmates will be ready within two days, and in case any other case is discovered, specialized doctors will take necessary measures in that concern. They reiterated that the discovered case will be treated inside the jail’s hospital because there is no need to transfer patients to the Infectious Diseases Hospital, while relatives of the inmates have been assured their kin are all okay.
