Sheep sold for KD 80,000

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 9: A stud sheep in Kuwait set a new world record when it was sold for KD 80 thousand in a special auction of sheep and goats.

Those monitoring the event were hoping for KD 100 thousand price tag considering the sheep has a rare line of descent different from the normal breed, reports Al-Shahid daily.

It is a common phenomenon for the normal breed sheep to be sold for KD 150 during Eid al-Adha festival and prices reduce in the ordinary days to KD 80 or KD 100.= In Kuwait, auctions are organized from time to time for hobbyist and collectors of rare sheep to purchase a breed that has unique features, while bidding continues until the price reaches astronomical digits.
