Bullets fired on MP’s house by unknown assailants

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 8: An unknown individual armed with a Kalashnikov weapon had fired gunshots at the house of MP Majed Mousa Al-Mutairi in Ishbiliya area. The bullets damaged the window glasses and walls of the house, reports Al- Seyassah daily. According to security sources, securitymen rushed to the location with paramedics and officers from General Department for Criminal Evidences after receiving information about the shooting. They examined the house and collected evidences. Investigations are ongoing to arrest the suspect.

However, sources revealed that MP Al-Mutairi did not register a case against the suspect. In a telephone conversation with Al-Seyassah daily after he arrived in the country from overseas, MP Al-Mutairi described the act as cowardly especially since only women and children were present in the house. He indicated that the shooting was probably perpetrated by adolescents Several members of the National Assembly condemned the shooting incident. MP Ahmad Abdullah Al-Azmi said this crime reflects the lack of proper security in the country, urging for necessary action to be taken against the suspect for the criminal act. MP Yaqoub Al-Sane’ condemned the incident, urging all parliamentarians to support MP Al-Mutairi. He demanded Ministry of Interior to launch immediate investigations to identify and arrest the suspect. MP Nabeel Al-Fadhel slammed the shooting incident, indicating that he believed the reasons were political.
